Tammie's safaris

Dr Tammie Matson personally leads 2-3 safaris every year to her favourite parts of Africa.  Joining one of these safaris is a special experience among like-minded people in small groups of 9-12 people, with your own personal zoologist on board!  Numbers are strictly limited so to join one of these journeys you need to sign up quickly.

Botswana conservation safari

Dates: Two departures on 12 and 19 June 2018 (6 nights)

Botswana is the home of the world's largest population of elephants, so where better than to get up close and personal with the planet's biggest land mammal than in the magnificent World Heritage listed wetlands of the Okavango Delta!  This part of Africa is renowned for its high density of wildlife in a pristine setting, and Tammie's safari is timed to be there at the start of the annual flood and during the zebra migration, allowing the best possible game viewing.  This safari journeys into the Okavango Delta and the Makgadigadi Pans and surroundings, providing outstanding wildlife viewing in a diverse range of habitats.  You will also have the chance to spend time with the traditional San Bushmen and maybe even see some meerkats.  You will get to try out game-viewing from a traditional mokoro (wooden canoe), a truly peaceful experience where you get a frog's-eye view of the Delta.  The special feature of this safari is that we will be horse riding at Makatoo Camp for those who are horse riders, a very special opportunity!  This safari has it all and is a must for elephant lovers especially!
