5-15 December 2022
This totally unique safari combines time spent participating in Tammie’s elephant research project in Akagera National Park, the chance to learn about the behind the scenes of running the park, a village visit and even a night drive, while being in a magnificent national park known for huge concentrations of hippos and the chance to see the recently reintroduced lions and rhinos.
You will learn more about elephants than you ever thought possible while out in the field observing their behaviour and recording data.
By exploring the southern and northern parts of Akagera, you will get to know this amazing wilderness well, prior to your trek with the endangered mountain gorillas in the ancient forests of Volcanoes National Park.
As this is a low season journey, the first gorilla permit is 30% off, which is a big saving! This is a journey that will truly touch your soul. It’s also one that gives back more than most safaris because each gorilla permit is a direct contribution to the future survival of the species and we only stay in lodges that support conservation and local communities.
