I m so excited because I ll be taking up to 12 people with me to Botswana in early June 2018 (that s NEXT year, so lots of time to save!) on the most epic Botswana safari yet.  It s not just about the horse riding among the wildlife (although that will be a highlight as it s very special to be on an animal while among the animals...), we'll also be visiting the Makgadigadi Pans, spending time walking with the San Bushmen, hanging out with the animals at the time of year when the awe-inspiring zebra and wildebeest migration comes to this part of Africa, exploring the riches of the Okavango Delta by game drive vehicle, boat and even better, by mokoro, the traditional canoe of the local people of Botswana, which is the most peaceful way to see the little animals up close.  There is even a chance to see meerkats....  Seriously, what more could you ask for?!

The last group I took to Botswana are still raving about it and this safari is set to top it.  Here's the itinerary below.  And the best thing is, we are getting a special rate on this safari in that we are paying 2017 prices, not 2018.  This means we avoid a 10% mark up by booking early.  Get your deposit in by mid March to score this deal!

ITINERARY - EARLY JUNE 2018

Day 1: Arrive in Maun, Botswana (fly to Johannesburg, and then it s a 2 hour flight to Maun on Air Botswana, SAA or British Air).

Day 2: Drive transfer to Meno a Kwena Camp, ideally located between the Okavango Delta and the Central Kalahari Game Reserve, and our timing is perfect for the zebra migration!  Head off into the Kalahari to explore the Magkadigadi Pans, take a walk with the San Bushmen and learn about their fascinating culture and relationship with the land, watch the spectacular zebra and wildebeest migration as thousands meander through the area, or just relax in the lodge in your luxury tent, by the pool or at the floating hide on the Boteti river, as the elephants come to drink.  There is even a chance to see meerkats here!  3 nights accommodation, all inclusive.

Day 5: Drive transfer to Maun for our short and magnificent flight over the wetlands to Makatoo Camp.  Explore the extraordinary wetlands of the World Heritage listed Okavango Delta on horse back, a unique experience second to none.  Ride alongside giraffes, antelopes, elephants and zebras on land and through the wetlands with experienced horse riding guides.  You need to be a confident rider, not a novice to do this activity.  If youre not a horse rider, or if your partner isn't, there s lots more to do at Makatoo.  This area is home to elephants, lions, African wild dogs, cheetahs and so much more, which we will see for ourselves on game drives, boat rides, mokoro rides (traditional dug out canoe!) as well.  The mornings are spent horse riding (or game driving/walking/boating if youre not a horse rider), leaving time for a siesta and another afternoon activity during the magical sunset hours.  3 nights fully inclusive accommodation.

Day 8: After a week of magic and inspiration, we all fly back to Maun for your flight out and bid farewell to me!

After the safari with me, you might like to do some more exploring, so we suggest visiting Victoria Falls and/or Chobe National Park.  All the details are in our itinerary so please contact me if youre interested.

This amazing safari is going for a brilliant price at US$5920/person sharing, which is for early June 2018 but at 2017 prices.  If we book by mid March, the 2017 price stands in June 2018, which means we save about 10%! If youre keen to join, please get in touch now to take advantage of this special price for booking early.  This price includes all your internal flights and transfers to and from Maun, luxury tented accommodation, activities, park fees, community fees, meals and all drinks other than imported luxury drinks.  You just need to get yourself to Maun!

Both of the safari camps are doing good for local communities and conservation in their own ways.  Makatoo Camp supports the work of Dr Mike Chase's Elephants Without Borders and Meno a Kwena is heavily involved in local community and conservation work.  By coming on safaris like this you are directly contributing to the conservation of Africa's wild places and ensuring that Africa's people have a bright future by ensuring that local people get jobs and opportunities directly related to the value of their natural assets.

Drop me a line by clicking here if you would like to sign up. Limited numbers and only a short time to secure this price!
